Colin Dech is a non-binary performing artist currently studying to get their BFA in Musical Theatre at Wright State University. Raider up! They are dedicated to developing the work ethic needed to soar in all facets of a career in the performing arts, both onstage and off.

Alongside performing, Colin is an active creator of original performance experiences. Their work includes Tiny Desk Night, a live band showcase dedicated to giving performers space to share their artistry outside of traditional theatre; Ke$ha Night, a high-energy celebration of 2010s party culture through song and dance; and SK8R GRRLZ, a punk-rock celebration of Y2K female-forward rock.

Colin also finds creative expression through scrapbooking and junk journaling. Using magazines, old books, everyday pieces of “trash,” art prints, and whatever else catches their eye, they create collages that capture thoughts, feelings, memories, and ideas that can be difficult to put into words. For Colin, junk journaling is another form of storytelling—a way to communicate through images, textures, colors, and found objects when words aren't quite enough.

Outside of their artistic work, Colin is a DEVOTED Ariana Grande fan, a lover of secondhand fashion, and a self-proclaimed “Diet Coke connoisseur.” With the best ways to enjoy a Diet Coke being as follows:

1. A large McDonald’s Diet Coke at approximately 10:30 p.m.

2. A crisp can from the fridge.

3. With the good ice. You know exactly what kind that is.

They will be joining the Ensemble of “Mary Poppins Jr.” at The Children’s Theater of Cincinnati! You can purchase tickets at the link below!!!
